Our Amazing Ocean
Ocean abstract taken while on our way out to look for whales in Depoe Bay, Oregon.

Ocean Abstract
Silky ocean abstract at Fogarty State Park near Lincoln Beach, Oregon.

Niagara Falls Abstract
Niagara Falls from the Canadian side on a very sunny day. We concentrated on detailed shots.

Textures in the Ozarks
There is a "wildlife" refuge at the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This very short hike to the refuge was certainly more interesting than the lookout provided to see the non-existent wildlife. The colors of the bark on the trees was very interesting.

Artistic Take on Tulips
This fun abstract was created by playing with my zoom lens. Created/inspired by following a technique as explained to me third hand from a fellow photographer.

Rainbow Abstract
A fellow photographer inspired me to try this technique and I had moderate success in the fields where the tulips were the same color. I wanted to try this with the multi-colored section to see how it would turn out. I'm pretty happy with this!

The Power of Sol Duc Falls
Sol Duc Falls in the Sol Duc Valley are part of the expansive Olympic National Park. The 48 foot drop of the falls is quite impressive and hard to imagine that this river serves as a key highway for coho salmon, running through the valley and ascending to the lakes and headwaters in the surrounding mountains. The beauty of this short trail is awe-inspiring and according to the National Park Service, most of the trees are old growth.

Palmera Symmetry
Palm abstract from a very symmetrical set of plam leaves. It is so interesting to see the different types of palm trees in one location. The Jardin Huerto del Cura is very unique and a must see if you're in the area.

Cottage Tiles
Most of the cottages and homes on Lofoten either had roof tiles such as this or grass. The textures here were really fun to capture.

Sakrisoy Stockfish
The fins of the stockfish made really cool abstracts.

Channeling Escher on Skagsanden Beach
Abstracts at Skagsanden Beach were everywhere. I know Nathaniel does this same trip in the winter. I would love to play here with snow on the ground.

Sunlit Waves
Sunrise at Skagsanden Beach is magical. The light was wonderful the day we were there.

Dragon in the Sand
The ever changing sand patterns at Skagsanden Beach were phenomenal. The tide changes the patterns as it is going out or coming in.

Sun-kissed Abstract
Sun-kissed abstract patterns on Skagsanden Beach were incredibly cool to capture. The vein like pattern here was very intriguing to me.

Circular Abstract
After the sun rose as Skagsanden Beach, we stayed for a bit to capture the neat patterns made by the changing ocean tide.

Fall Colors in Norway
These trees were so interesting to me. Their twists and turns remind me of the way the fjords twist and turn on Lofoten.

The Aurora Dance
This really captures my memories of her dances. Electric. Ever changing and amazing.

Winter Sand Patterns
At low tide, the wreck of the Peter Iredale provides very interesting patterns in the sand.

Aspen Abstract
Winters in Grand Teton National Park are beautiful. Photographing in the snow means being very creative. This aspen grove was perfect for a winter abstract.

Snowy Bison Abstract
Abstracts can be found everywhere. Even in snowy bison coats.
